Ever wondered what it’s really like to spend time with horses?

Designed as an introduction to equestrian life, our experiences give you the chance to learn about horses both in and out of the saddle. Whether you’ve always wanted to try horse riding, you're looking for a new experience for your child, or you simply love animals, we'll help you feel comfortable and involved from the moment you arrive.

No previous horse experience is necessary - this is all about having a go, learning something new and enjoying time with our wonderful ponies in the beautiful surroundings of May Hill Farm.

What's Included?

We believe there’s much more to horses than simply getting in the saddle.

During your Pony Experience, you'll get to meet the horses and learn how to safely interact with them, before getting hands-on with some of the everyday activities involved in caring for a pony.

Depending on your individual experience, this can include learning how to groom, care for their feet, handle a horse from the ground and tack up, before putting what you've learnt into practice with time in the saddle.

May Hill Farm is a small, friendly, family-run riding school, and we pride ourselves on creating experiences around the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our riding and pony experiences are moulded around each person, allowing our team to take into account age, confidence and previous experience.

For some people, simply meeting and grooming a pony is a big achievement. Others can't wait to get into the saddle. We'll help you enjoy the experience at a pace that feels right for you.
